Running the Silk Road Running the Silk Road is a play that follows three friends who set out on an epic journey to run the distance of the Silk road from Turkey to Beijing to raise awareness of global warming. The music follows their journey and reflects their adventures as they are hijacked and shot at by russian bandits, hallucinate seeing electric eels, are attacked by mythical beasts and finally saved by a demi-god. This is a rendition of the music composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Carribean, Hannibal, K-19) for the film ‘The Promise’ or ‘Wu Ji’ directed by Kaige Chen (Farewell my concubine). I thought the mix made for this trailer was excellent as it covered an excellent array of different moods, emotions identifiable in film music. Also some great hooks and string arrangements.

Just a quick idea put together for a demo for a film music job for RTHK. Influenced by some of the HK art house movies such as '2046' & 'In the mood for love' by director wong kar wai.
Bands
Kubotan A couple of favourite tracks from a heavy rock band I used to play with. Some excellent tunes here. The mixing from their previous engineer could have been a bit better I thought, but some nice bits here and there. The mix left little room for maneuverability in the mastering process. I think the band are in the process of remixing a few of them. Look out for these guys.
Corrosion
Mastered using Waves Diamond, Izoptop Ozone, PSP vintage warmer, Voxengo Gliss EQ and wizoo W2 reverb.
Manic
Mastered using Waves Diamond, Izoptop Ozone, PSP vintage warmer, Voxengo Gliss EQ and wizoo W2 reverb.
Arisca Here are a couple of tracks from another band I used to play for, Arisca (a industrial trip/hop rock band). Some beautiful singing from Natalia and piano playing from Mariano.
