Hip hop Collaboration behind the scene mini-doc - Kee Lewis of Keenote recordings put together a short film documenting some of the goings on behind the scenes from rehearsals for the Royal Opera House hip hop collaboration.

Dragon Tongue Squad London Rehearsals

Dance Now Modern Dance Collaboration -
Highlights of the results of a two week residency at Sadlers Wells composing music for three exceptional dancer/choreographers. Liu Qi (Deputy Artistic Director of Guangdong Modern Dance Company), Anh Ngoc Nguyen (Random Dance company) and Maggie Hoki Kwan.

Running the Silk Road - Two videos showing the rehearsal stages and a Beijing opera fight scene from the play.

Set with DJ Phat - A video of the highlights of DJ Phat's and my set from the Hip Hop collaboration event with Dragon Tongue Squad and Blazian at the Linbury Theatre in the Royal Opera House in February. This was probably the only time I'll ever get away with playing the intro to Sweet Child of Mine...

Architectural Visualisation Demo Reel -
This is a video demo to illustrate some music to video I did for some architectural visualisations. Theres also a bit of sound design included for the some of the animated movements in the video. Was nice to get back to something architecturally related. Naturally, theres a strong link between music and architecture which I think can be exploited in presentations such as these. Thanks are due to the companies who kindly allowed me to use their videos, and kudos for the high level of animation.

Scratch Battle -
This is the video of part of a set I did with DJ Phat at the recent showcase event. We worked out this set over a couple of weekends leading up to the gig. I've always wanted to work with a scratch DJ and Kevin didn't disappoint. We received a great response from this and part of it has been played on the radio. Check it. Bo.

The Promise -
This is a rendition of the music composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Carribean, Hannibal, K-19) for the film ‘The Promise’ or ‘Wu Ji’ directed by Kaige Chen (Farewell my concubine). I thought the mix made for this trailer was excellent as it covered an excellent array of different moods, emotions identifiable in film music. Also some great hooks and string arrangements.

I used solely East West’s orchestral vst for the sounds, including symphonic choirs for the vocals at the end. This all within SX3.

It was ‘The Most Expensive Oriental Film to Date’ I was told. I watched the first 10 mins before turning it off as I didn’t want the image of the music to be spoilt. Haven’t seen the whole film so can’t give an informed comment. Check out my article about Klaus Badelt and the video from M-audio.

Tamacun - This is my rendition of the rhythm part for Tamacun as played by Gabriela Quintero from Rodrigo y Gabriela. These guys are freaking awesome and must be seen live. One of the best, if not the best gig I’ve been to. Check ‘em out at www.rodgab.com Took me a while to nail the techniques as it was all new to me, but satisfying nethertheless. Although its an expensive piece to play as the strings break every 2 weeks on average! Video of the lead part coming soon.

Hide/Shine - Short clip of an Arisca gig playing beautiful track called ‘Hide Shine’. Check out the groovy pitch bend guitar effect….waahooOooWooOooOoO.

Drifting - Andy Mckee Cover - This is what I would call Andy Mckee's signature tune. A brilliant two handed acoustic tapping/fingerpicking piece. This is actually one of his older songs inspired by Don Ross and Preston Reed. In my opinion, he's far better than either of them. Genius.

More videos to come soon...
