In a cold, paint-peeling shell of a council flat, Doug (David Sterne) sits in a reclining chair in front of the oldest television you've ever seen. Partially immobile and with his wife long-ago moved to a care home, Doug's life is now pretty much dominated by Sky Sports, egg-custard tarts and taking the piss out of his favourite carer, Kate (Katy Trevor). But when Kate visits tonight, nothing is going to plan. She's late, her toothache's killing her and Doug's being oddly evasive. Then as she rushes about in her impossibly allocated 15 minutes, Doug drops some unexpected news... Now caught between her rapidly escalating care duties, Doug's glib defences and her genuine concern for him, Kate faces a ticking clock and her own slowly encroaching burnout. Maybe this wasn't the day to finally quit smoking.
